Colleen Wittig obtained her Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from University of British Columbia in 2003 and has been practicing as a counsellor since 2001. She is registered as a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors. She has worked in various settings with adults, youth and families including Family Services of Greater Vancouver, Vancouver Coastal Health Eating Disorders Program and Child and Youth Mental Health.

Colleen’s treatment philosophy focuses on empowering clients to lead a meaningful and fulfilling life by supporting them to work through life’s challenges to draw on their individual strengths. Through a compassionate lens, she works with clients to develop skills and guides them to bring awareness and insight into their emotions and life experiences.

Colleen has training and experience in Emotionally Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Self-Compassion and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy. She uses creative approaches to incorporate various therapeutic approaches into her practice. She has worked extensively with clients struggling with eating disorders, self-esteem issues, anxiety and depression. Additionally, she has provided parenting support and workshops with Family Services of Greater Vancouver.

Colleen’s person-centred approach is one of warmth, compassion and acceptance. Her stance is one which fosters safety and trust. She is very passionate about supporting clients to thrive and tailors treatment approaches to the unique needs of each client.
